This morning I delivered a company presentation to three IT Directors, ya know what? I rocked!
Given my mere 3 months at my job, and no previous experience of the legal sector, is this blogger one big blagger?
At Uni. I often submitted essays franticly written the night before and ended up with respectable grades.
I've landed great jobs by presenting on topics totaly out of my comfort zone hashed together with the help of Google and sticky backed plastic.
Does this make me a blagger, or am I just good at picking things up? Or am I plain lucky, "you always land on your feet Jes"
I think it's all of the above, but mainly confidence. If you can motivate yourself to think you know your stuff, chances are that's how you'll be perceived.
Add to this that people EXPECT you to know your stuff, and you know more than you think anyway it's easy to convince anyone IF you deliver it confidently.
I have witnessed people deliver some amasing presentations with barely any preparation. Their personalities carry them through.
Blagging, if that's what you want to call it, is just another skill. It can be learned, is incredibly useful and is too often disregarded as a cop out to knowing your stuff.
Let's face it, preparation may well 'prevent piss poor performance' but Blagging can 'provide time to get pissed'!

Volvic challenge update
Man this is sooooooooooo hard. Waking up in the middle of the night to pee. Busting for the loo on the way to work. Nanette nearly peeing her knicks driving to appointments for the kids. This is TORTURE! Do I feel any different so far, well apart from improving muscles in certain areas NO. If anything I feel more thirsty (could that be the 1/2 bottle of wine I had at lunch?)
I do think water is over-rated. I mean, I managed for 34 years without my 1.5l per day. It's supposed to make me feel more awake, but not if I've been up twice in the night to drain the lizard. On Sunday night I even was dreaming about busting for the loo. I woke up, and would you believe it I was busting for the loo. Realistic or what..
Taking matters into our own hands we have decided to amend our routine to drink more in the 1st half of the day, hopefully thus stemming the build up of pressure in the early hours.
Unfortunately following my lunchtime booze, I'm out on the beers after work. So that's 1.5l water, 2 mugs of tea, 1/2 bottle of wine, what will probably be several pints this evening - I'll be peeing all night :-0
Mr Volvic - you're a git

The Volvic 14 day challenge
My good lady and I have taken Volvic up on their 14 day challenge of drinking 1.5 litres of water a day. Of course we are not buying Volvic rather drinking it from the tap but will report as to whether it changes our lives! Sure beats exercise anyway...
Today is day 3, and so far we can report that the main change we are both seeing is..... we can't stop peeing!
